Pope rated fifth most powerful person in world

Pope Benedict is in the top five of Forbes Magazine's list of "The World's Most Powerful People", and is the highest ranked religious figure on the list of 68, said a report on HULIQ.com.

The pontiff came in fifth, after Chinese President Hu Jintao, US President Barack Obama, Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah and Russia's Vladimir Putin, according to the list found on Forbes.com.

With more than a billion members of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Benedict XVI is the "highest earthly authority" for the world's largest Christian church, said HULIQ.com.
