Vandals attack church in Wales

Vandals have attacked a church in Wales, causing around £2,000 worth of damage to the building.

The Gower church was damaged by vandals hurling rocks and stones at the church windows on Saturday night or early Sunday, the BBC reports.

The damage was to the extent that services had to be cancelled at St Gwynour's in Penclawdd on Sunday.

Vicar Michael Walters told the BBC the vandalism had “hurt and shocked” the church’s worshippers.

Members of the congregation helped to clean up the mess from the shattered glass.

The vandalism is particularly distressing for the church, coming just a few months after the installation of new stained glass windows.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to call them on 01792 456999 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
