Parish In Bray (32)

"After waiting 8 months we have now been informed that finally the results of the last hearing in this case from July 2009 will be out in the next week".

With decisions for all the other cases heard since July 2009 to February 2010 having already been published it is very strange that the decision in this case took so long.

Let us hope there was no Church interference that delayed same!!

The clock is also ticking - tick tock - until the next hearing in Wicklow Circuit Court on May 11 with battle stations already formed for a major fight for justice to be done finally in this case.

State of play -

Secretary won case before the Rights Commissioner April 2007 for having no written Contract for over 3 years. Fr. White was in breach of Labour Law.

Equality Tribunal hearing - results pending.

Appeal to the Wicklow Circuit Court in the matter of Unfair Dismissal - case awaiting hearing.

We wish to thank all those who have given their continued support to the Parish Secretary since September 2005.

As more news becomes available we will keep you updated."

As ever we are behind Margaret 100%This case has dragged on for far too long.

We want to see an end to it and we want to see Justice!

This abomination that calls himself a priest, and his church should be ashamed of the way they have treated this lady.
Charity, Kindness, none of it!

Margaret has our profound respect, always in our prayers. Good Luck!

As we have seen in other areas of Irish life, abuse thrives in conditions of secrecy. (Qui male agit, odit lucem. He who acts badly, hates the light.) Or, to quote former Chief Justice Ronan Keane, ‘The most benign climate for the growth of corruption and abuse of powers, whether by the judiciary or the legal profession, is one of secrecy’.

The main reason that Margaret’s parish priest employer and his psychiatric ‘gun for hire’, Dr Mohan, have escaped largely unpunished so far is that they haven’t had to answer for their actions in a public forum. It’s good to hear that at last the day of reckoning is approaching when justice can be seen to be done and hopefully it will be done.

The notion that the Catholic Church ‘got to’ to the Equality Tribunal is not at all far-fetched. In spite of all the justifiable moral outrage over clerical child abuse and the Church’s institutional complicity from top to bottom in these despicable crimes against children, that same Church controls almost all of primary education in this country and there doesn’t seem to be any great political will to change that fact.

This would be amazing were it not the case that whoever controls the primary school system controls the country. ‘Give us the child and we will give you the man.’ as the Jesuits boast. The ‘men’ who run this country have almost all been moulded by the Catholic Church in primary schools and in middle class Catholic controlled secondary schools. Many have been further ‘educated’ in such hallowed institutions as University College Dublin where the great Cardinal Connell was once an esteemed professor of philosophy no less.

If this State really were an independent sovereign democratic republic, it would not allow a foreign state, the Vatican, to control its primary education system and by extension to control the State itself. It’s difficult to see how this vicious circle can ever be broken. Are we going to be forever ruled by sleeveens without a single shred of self respect or capacity to think independently and follow it through? Is Ireland going to be forever ‘the old sow that eats its farrow’, to quote James Joyce?

The Catholic Church may have got to the Equality Tribunal, given the lack of transparency in the operation of that Tribunal but the court system is another matter and I expect that justice will be done and be seen to be done in Margaret’s case in the Circuit Court.

Good God Almighty - the face above would turn milk sour - its one only a mother could love.

I think the strain is starting to show on this member of the clergy's face - maybe he is starting to see the light that his number is almost up and he is past his sell by date.

We had him here in St. Mary's Lucan for some years where he founded a justice and peace group but by the sound of this long running dispute he now no longer believes in either (JUSTICE OR PEACE) so weren't we the lucky ones that he toddled off to Bray before he did similar untold damage to our lovely Parish of St. Mary's.

Has he not heard that the church is no longer a place to hide for arrogant bullies abusing the so called powers of their office.

My friend Josie has some not so fond memories of him even here in our Parish.

We wish this lady luck and our prayers for the success of her hearing. With the current climate a Priests word is no longer automatically believed as the Gospel truth - they can put their hands on the Bible and everyone knows it has become a LICENCE TO LIE. Mental Reservation is an art form for them.

Quote from Archbishop Diarmuid Martin's Palm Sunday homily

"If we really understand how we all belong to the one body then we cannot feel that the answer to renewal in the church can come about by leaving the church or by leaving it to others," he added.

Dr Martin said he was committed to working with anybody who wished to "purify our church from all that has damaged the face of Christ".

That is good hearing this from an Archbishop who receives complaints from the laity about serving Parish Priests and does NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, ZIP, NADA about them so they are left in office to carry on ruining the Church in all their glory.

How can he say he will work with anyone to purify the Church when he won't get rid of the ROTTEN EGGS serving in its midst.

The Archbishop is as much a hypocrite as any other member of the clergy. He certainly has not proved otherwise and now since his return from Rome when he is interviewed on the news his eyes are hopping out of his head and he looks like a scared "rabbit in the headlights" afraid to do the right thing and DUMP bad members of the clergy. Nice to hear him saying he would never ask anyone to resign - he is as guilty as all the rest will do nothing to get rid of the rot in the Church when he has the power to dump these useless corrupt self serving arrogant lying members of the clergy from their cushy jobs for life. It still boils down to jobs for the boys above anything else.

It is the most corrupt boys club in the world followed closely by the politicians of our country.

Time to wake up Diarmuid old boy if you can't rule with an iron rod and get rid of the rot you have no right to stay on in office you should resign with the rest of them who are still clinging on to power by their fingertips.
