Yes priests are amazing and wonderful people, but they are people still. Please do not take offense because of my American ways but I have always had a way of letting my words run away with me. Hardly any of my family goes to mass because of priests who have considered themselves above helping people in need due to lack of money and lack of compassion.
ReplyDeleteThis poem or statement puts the priest before God in all things and that is not how it should be. Priests are not perfect, only through Jesus are we made perfect, because only with Him can we die to ourselves and truly learn to look beyond.
A priest may love God but only because God loved him first.
A priest may love man but only because God loves men through a priest.
A priest may be holy because he walks before the All Holy but it is to the All Holy that we much look to become holier.
A priest cannot understand all things, no human can understand all things, this attribute applies only to God.
A priest does not forgive in the confessional, Jesus forgives and absolves through the priest who serves as nothing more than a vessel.
A priest cannot encompass all things for if he could what need would we have of God at all, why not worship the priest?
A priest may love and may have trials he offers up through the sufferings of Jesus but to compare a priest's suffering to that of our Lord is presumption beyond belief.
A priests heart may hold much, but I still believe it presumptuous to claim that it is anything but a mirror reflecting what the Lord has given him.
A priest's goal may be to be like Christ, but to be Christ himself... those are some big shoes to fill for a man...
I do not judge you, just ask that you choose your words more carefully less you cause scandle and lead your flock astray... we should all remember that we are the clay and He the potter we are nothing without Him. God bless and keep you always!
