New Bishop Arrives in Green Bay

The Green Bay Catholic Diocese's new bishop is making the move to Green bay.

Bishop David Ricken arrived at Austin Straubel airport Friday evening.

The 55-year-old spent the last seven years in Wyoming. This is the farthest east he's lived.

Bishop Ricken says he's excited to meet the priests, sisters, and the diocese's many parishes, which is something he says he'll have to get used to.

"And so many Catholics, that will be a big adjustment for me. I think just getting used to many more people and learning how to do ministry to many people than I have before, so that will be the biggest challenge for me to personally overcome," he said.

Bishop Ricken replaces Bishop David Zubik, who left last September to lead the Pittsburgh Diocese.

Bishop Ricken will be installed next week.
