Trouble in the Big Apple (USA)

Six women were arrested at a parish in New York on Monday night after police were called to end a sit-in at a parish church that is scheduled to close on March 1.

The women arrested were among about 20 people who had remained in Our Lady Queen of Angels church in the city’s East Harlem section, refusing to leave until police arrived.
The demonstrators vowed to continue their sit-in indefinitely, and conduct services even without the permission of the New York archdiocese, in a desperate bid to stop the closing of their church.
