MADAGASCAR - Initiatives, meetings and prayer for the sick of the diocese of Fianarantsoa

On the occasion of the recent celebration of the World Day of the Sick, the community of Fianarantsoa gathered for two retreats at the Jean Marie Vianney childhood building, in Ambalapaiso.

In a note sent to Fides a Camillian missionary says that "the first retreat was held on Saturday, February 4 with the celebration of Father Albert Rainiherinoro (M.I), Chaplain of the Diocesan Commission of Health, for the sick and the disabled.

On Sunday, February 5 Father Garvey Zafindrainimara (S.J), Chaplain of the Brotherhood of the sick and people with disabilities, celebrated for health professionals.

On February 11, 2017, World Day of the Sick, at 9 am both groups together with other pilgrims gathered in the square of the Church of St. Therese Ilena to begin the Way of the Cross to the Tower of the Madonna Salus Infirmorum where Mass was celebrated during which the anointing of the sick "was administered".

The Mass was animated by the children of Ilena", added the missionary.

Instead on Sunday, February 12, 2017 the anointing of the sick was administered at the public hospital in Tambohobe during the Eucharistic celebration in the Chapel of San Camillo.
