A wave of icy cold weather continues to cause the death of several
children in the western region of Sudan.
Already a few weeks ago a group
of malnourished children did not resist the cold.
According to local witnesses in Dola, in addition to the lack of food,
blankets, heated shelters, and the absence of health centers and
medicines in the mountainous area, a serious cold wave has hit the south
of Deribat.
The bombing on villages and agricultural land have forced many residents
to flee to displacement camps or to seek refuge in the mountains.
In
the fields of the eastern Jebel Marra area most of the elementary
schools open an hour later in the morning to avoid the intense cold.
