No child, whether or not in possession of a birth certificate, should be denied access to education.
The complaint comes from a Malaysian
lawyer, a human rights advocate.
Stateless children are not the only
ones to be deprived of education in Malaysia.
In fact, the children of
local plantation workers and the Orang Asal, Malaysian indigenous, do
not have birth certificates and are facing the same problem.
