Archdiocese of Armagh to host celebration for World Day for Consecrated Life

The Archdiocese of Armagh will be celebrating the World Day for Consecrated Life with Solemn Vespers in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh on Thursday 2 February.

In 1997, Pope Saint John Paul II instituted a day of prayer for women and men in consecrated life.

This celebration is attached to the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord which falls on 2 February.

The World Day for Consecrated Life is an opportunity to pray for all those women and men in consecrated life who have given their lives in love to God.

As part of the evening, Archbishop Eamon Martin will launch a special prayer initiative in the diocese and all prayer groups in the diocese are invited to join for what promises to be a very special celebration of consecrated life.
