The Cardinal thanked the Poor Clares for their "witness to consecrated life" as well as their "exemplary work and the continual prayers offered as a contribution to this local Church".
Commenting on the readings of the day, he then emphasized the importance of the contemplative life for the mission of the Church, citing the Magisterium of Pope Francis, and urged them: "Do not forget: your common life together is meant to be a reflection of the love of the Holy Trinity ".
After Mass, the Cardinal visited the center run by the Sisters of Mother Teresa, and, in the late morning, left for Lusaka, to continue his pastoral visit to Zambia.
