Irish priest lays wreath on grave of Father Jacques Hamel

On his way to Lourdes to join the Meath diocesan pilgrimage, Father Declan Hurley, Adm, Navan Parish, visited the grave of Father Jacques Hamel.

Fr Jacques Hamel was an elderly French priest who was murdered while celebrating Mass in the church of Saint Etienne du Rouvray near Rouen on 26 July.

Father Declan laid a wreath on behalf of the parish community of Navan, as a sign of their communion and respect.

The Meath Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes began on Monday 12 September.
