Street preacher arrested in Scotland after denouncing homosexuality

http://images.christianpost.com/full/61926/tony-miano.jpgTony Miano, an American street preacher, has been arrested in Dundee, Scotland, on charges of “alleged breach of peace with ‘homophobic’ aggravation,” the British organization Christian Concern reported.

“Tony wasn’t focusing just on homosexual practice – it was about all sin,” said a Baptist pastor who witnessed the incident. “After Tony was put in the police van I asked why he was being arrested and was told it was for a breach of the peace and for using homophobic language.”

Miano will appear in court in April.

“The incident adds to the number of arrests of Christian street evangelists for preaching from the Bible,” said Andrea Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre.

“It is indicative of the suppression of the freedom to speak and live out the words of Jesus Christ in public and present the teachings of the Bible.”
