British Ambassador to Holy See launches competition to meet Twitter followers

“If you met the British Ambassador to the Holy See, what would you ask him and why?”

This is the question Twitter followers of the British Embassy to the Holy See have been asked to answer for a chance to meet Ambassador Nigel Baker and hold “a fuller discussion” on what his work involves, UK-Holy See relations, religion and foreign policy, and wider foreign policy issues.

The British Embassy to the Holy See has published an article on its website announcing the launch of a competition.

To enter “followers of the British Embassy to the Holy See Twitter account @UKinHolySee are invited to send the British Ambassador to the Holy See, Nigel Baker, a tweet including the hashtag #meetHMA, replying to the [above] question,” the website specifies.

The Ambassador will ask Twitter followers a range of questions via the social network and his blog and will choose three individuals to meet him in person.

The British Embassy to the Holy See’s website adds that: “the winners will also be given a copy of the official proceedings of the 2012 Colloquium “Britain and the Holy See: A Celebration of 1982 and the wider relationship”, marking the 30th anniversary of the upgrade of diplomatic relations between the United Kingdom and the Holy See to ambassadorial level in 1982.”

“I look forward very much to taking your questions and meeting some of you for in-depth discussion on my work, UK-Holy See relations, religion and foreign policy, and wider foreign policy issues,” Nigel Baker said.
