AJC congratulates Archbishop Pietro Parolin on his appointment by
Pope Francis as Secretary of State of the Holy See, and wishes him
every success in his position.
“Both our AJC liaison to the Vatican, Lisa Billig, and I have enjoyed a long and warm association with Monsignor Parolin in the past,” said Rabbi David Rosen, AJC’s International Director of Interreligious Affairs.
“We are delighted to learn of in his appointment to this most important position and look forward to our continued close relationship, advancing the values and aspirations that we share for the betterment of the world at large.”
Parolin, currently the Vatican envoy to Venezuela, served as the Vatican’s deputy foreign minister from 2002 to 2009.
