Catholic church rasies $2.5M through real estate auction

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has raised a total of $2.5 million through a multiple-property auction it held late last month.

Max Spann Real Estate and Auction Co. conducted the auction and one Bucks County property – a 48-acre parcel zoned for residential use at 5800 Wismer Road in Plumstead, Pa., - traded for $860,000 before bidding even began. 

The other properties and their sale prices are:

-St. Bartholomew Convent at 5500 Harbison Ave. in Philadelphia sold for $280,000;

-St. Michael Business School at 1504-1506 N. 2nd St. in Philadelphia sold for $363,000;

-Our Lady of Hope Convent at 3531-3535 N. 19th St. in Philadelphia traded for $118,000;

-A residential parcel totaling an acre on Mill Road Circle in Rydal, Pa., sold for $357,500;

- A 29.55-acre commercial parcel at 570 Shelly Road in Harleysville, Pa., traded for $530,000; and

-All Saints School and All Saints Convent at 4623 and 4629-4635 E. Thompson Road in Philadelphia did not sell and remain on the market.
