The Polish tennis star is the world number four and posed for a special ‘Body Issue’ of ESPN Magazine.

While the sportswoman (24) is a proud Catholic, youth group Krucjata Mlodych (Youth Crusade) described the shoot as ‘immoral behaviour’ and she was dropped from its campaign.

In the past, Radwanska has appeared in videos for the group, urging young Catholics to wear Christian pendants.

In Poland, senior priest Father Marek Dziewiecki joined the chorus of those condemning her move.

"It's a shame that someone who has declared their love for Jesus is now promoting the mentality of men looking at a woman as a thing rather than a child of God worthy of respect and love," Dziewiecki said.

"If she meets a man who she can truly love and establish a happy family and raise Catholic children, then she would probably have to hide these pictures from relatives."
90pc of the Polish population describes itself as Catholic.
