The Down and Connor Youth Commission was recently rebranded as
‘Living Youth’, in keeping with the diocese’s Living Church project.
The launch of the new logo and brand was attended by Bishop Noel
Treanor, Bishop Donal McKeown, Pauline Dowd, the new Diocesan Youth
Director, youth workers, faith ministry workers and executive members of
the Down and Connor Youth Commission.
During the launch Shaunagh McGranaghan was presented with the Papal
Cross Award and Pauline Dowd, who has been in her position since
September, gave an overview of the work of the commission and their
plans for the future.
“Ultimately the Youth Commission aims to provide a cycle of care,
which engages with our young people throughout their post primary
education and beyond,” she said. “To do this we are keen to work with all of the organisations in the
diocese that can help us support our young people to build the Kingdom
of God. This includes our schools and youth centres, our FE colleges and
universities, Youthlink, SPRED, Saint Vincent de Paul, the Queen’s
Chaplaincy and the Living Church project as well as our priests and
bishops.”
