Church vandalized in Lebanon’s Zalqa

Lebanon's Catholic Media Center said on Thursday that the Holy Cross Armenian Catholic Church in the northern Beirut suburb of Zalqa was vandalized on Wednesday night.

The statement cited a priest as saying that pictures of saints and icons were torn to pieces, adding that the statue of Saint Rita was damaged.

However, it is unclear who was responsible for the vandalism.

The priest contacted the relevant authorities to open an investigation into the incident.
