Child abuse once rife in Catholic homes

Two reports just published show child abuse was once rife in Catholic homes of the canton of Lucerne.

Over 50 people assigned to these between the 1930s and the late ’70s were interviewed.

They speak of punishments bordering on torture and sexual violence.

The investigations were mandated by the Catholic Church of the canton of Lucerne and local authorities.
