Catholic Church says City's decision on abortion is 'regrettable'

In a statement signed by the Buenos Aires archbishop, the Catholic Church criticized the move by stating that “we once again feel that we are deliberately moving towards the limitation and elimination of the supreme value of life and ignore the rights of unborn children.”

“When talking about a pregnant mother we are talking about two lives, both must be preserved and respected, since life is of absolute value,” the statement added.

“Abortion is never a solution,” it stressed.

“We have called on all parts involved in this regrettable decision, we have called on the faithful and citizens so, in an environment of utmost respect, we can adopt positive measures to promote and protect a mother and a child in all cases, always defending the right to human life,” the text concludes.
