Pope asks Church to pray for employment

The PopeThe Pope has urged all members of the Church to dedicate their prayers during the month of July to employment, a “pressing” issue today, the Pope said in a statement broadcast on Vatican Radio.

The crisis shows no sign of abating, unemployment figures are causing great concern and inequality and poverty are rising.

All this is causing great uncertainty for the future.

This is one of the reasons why the Pope’s call to faithful for this special prayer is so urgent.

“That everyone may have work in safe and secure conditions” is the title of the prayer intention presented by Benedict XVI for the current month of July.
