Cloyne Safeguarding newsletter launched

The Diocese of Cloyne has issued its inaugural edition of its Safeguarding Children newsletter.

Designed to offer an overview of the work of safeguarding children and how those with concerns about the safety of children or vulnerable young adults can obtain assistance and advice, the first edition explains how the diocesan safeguarding committee operates and includes a frequently asked section.

The first edition of the newsletter was warmly welcomed by the Archbishop of Cashel & Emly, Most Rev Dermot Clifford DD, Administrator of the Diocese of Cloyne.
If history is to record the first decade of the 21st Century as a deeply humiliating time in the Church in Cloyne Diocese,” he said, “then let history also record that this was a time when the Church in Cloyne used every available opportunity to learn from past mistakes, rectify past wrongs and move forward in faith with a renewed purpose and vigour especially with regard to the safety and well-being of the young and most vulnerable.”
