Every second Russian believes abortions and euthanasia acceptable - poll

51% of Russians believe abortion is acceptable for families with low income, the poll by the Politekh social technologies agency commissioned by the Russian Public Chamber shows.

42% of Russians think the contrary, authors of the poll told Interfax-Religion.

The sociologists cleared out that 63% of Russians believe that human life starts from the moment of conception, while 33% think it begins from birth.

55% of respondents are sure that euthanasia should be allowed only for incurable and hardly suffering patients, 9% - for wider circles, 28% do not think it acceptable.

The poll was conducted by telephone, 1800 aged over 18 were questioned in 149 cities of 74 subjects of the Russian Federation.
