Russian Orthodox religious services in Waterford

Russian Orthodox Parish has been present in Waterford for the past several years.

Divine Liturgy is celebrated here on a monthly basis, and on special occasions, as well as baptisms and other services.

Worship in Slavonic and English take place in the St. Patrick church on Jenkins Lane, with the Christian hospitality of the Catholic church in Ireland, for which we are eternally grateful.

Initially, the parish had a status of an attached community to the Patriarchal Representation of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Dublin, but in 2010 the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church has decided to include it in the Munster deanery of the Diocese of Sourozh of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Priest Nikolai Evseev was appointed St. Patrick's Parish rector as well as dean of all Munster parishes.

At present Divine Liturgy is celebrated on a monthly basis and every Sunday, in absence of the priest, special rite services are held by lay people.

Within our Parish there is a Sunday school which consists of Bible studies and catechumen courses for those who want to know more about Orthodox tradition.

There is also a children choir which is conducted by a professional singer in both Russian and English languages. Lessons for children are held in arts and painting classes.

We invite all Orthodox Christians to participate in services and Sunday school as well as all the inhabitants of Waterford city and the surrounding areas who are interested in getting acquainted with Orthodoxy, and for communicating with the priest and parishioners.
