Colombian ex-child hostage visits the Vatican

Kidnap victim Nohora Valentina Muñoz, the daughter of a Colombian mayor, visits Vatican City after being freed in November.

She was accompanied by Juan Sebastian Losada, who was held hostage between 2001 and 2004, to a mass given by Pope Benedict XVI in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Other Colombians who attended the mass were singer-songwriter Peter Manjarres, writer William Ospina and the mayor of San Antonio de Tequendama, Fidel Martinez.

Next Wednesday the young girl will meet the pope, who made speeches and requests for her release.

The 10-year-old was captured on October 30 from the town of Fortul in the department of Arauca in northeast Colombia.

She was held for 19 days by leftist guerrilla group FARC and returned unharmed.
