VATICAN INSTRUCTS LAWYERS TO ACT AGAINST BENETTON

A communique' says that the Vatican has instructed lawyers to take action to pull the Benetton advertisement. 

The communique', issued by the Vatican State Office says that the State Secretariat has instructed its lawyers to prevent the distribution, including through the mass media, of the photo-montage created as part of an advertising campaign by Benetton. 

The announcement again condemned the poster for its "absolutely unacceptable use of the image of the Holy Father, manipulated and exploited in a publicity campaign with commercial ends, showing a grave lack of respect for the Pope and the Catholic Church, causing offence to the feelings of believers." . .
