The Priests set for hometown concert

Derry priests and music sensations , Martin and Eugene O'Hagan who in recent weeks have proved not only to be the toast of both the music industry but also of Hollywood, are returning to their hometown for a special Christmas performance.

The O'Hagan brothers are two thirds of The Priests.  Their show, Christmas With The Priests, sees them and Antrim's Fr David Delargy singing much-loved classics such as, Ave Maria, Pie Jesu and Amazing Grace

The Priests, the lives of whose members look set to be captured in a Hollywood film, will also perform tracks from their third album Noel for the first time.

This means songs such as, Ding Dong Merrily on High, O Come All Ye Faithful, Sussex Carol and, Silent Night are likely to be performed on the night.

Speaking to local media in Derry Fr Martin O'Hagan, whose father lives in the Waterside parish in Derry City, said he is looking forward to performing in his home city before Christmas.

However he said that performing at home before Christmas will help make up for some of the disappointment of their US tour cancellation earlier in November due to commitments in Ireland.

According to Fr O' Hagan, “We are all very disappointed that our tour of America has been postponed until the Spring of 2012, but considering the bad weather there at present, it may be a blessing in disguise.  It will give us more time to rehearse.”

The Priests is bringing its unique sound to The Millennium Form in Derry City on Saturday and Sunday December 17 and 18.
