A new evangelisation and ecology for France

Bishops are meeting in France to face the big challenges of contemporary humanity.

The assembly was opened with an introductory speech by Card. André Vingt-Trois, Archbishop of Paris and President of the French Episcopal Conference.

During the sessions, prelates will listen to the reflections of the workgroups on “Environment and ecology” and “Sunday gatherings”, which will present the latest updates on a study carried out over several years.

One of the key points of the plenary session is the presentation of a summary of the 2012 Synod which will be dedicated to the New Evangelisation.

Its preparation progress will be reviewed during the next synodal assembly.

As the discussions unfold, La Stampa will have the opportunity to meet Mgr. Laurent Ulrich, Archbishop of Lille and Vice-President of the French Episcopal Conference, and Mgr. Michel Santier, Bishop of Créteil, to talk about psycho spiritual accompaniment.
