2011 - Diocesan Appointments - Down & Connor


Having considered the pastoral needs of the people of the Diocese, Bishop Noel Treanor has made the following appointments, effective from 14th November 2011:

Very Rev Daniel Whyte PP, St Mary’s on the Hill, has retired and will assist, when available, in North Down and Ards.

Very Rev John Forsythe, PP Christ the Redeemer, Lagmore, to be PP St Mary’s on the Hill, Glengormley;

Rev Martin Graham, CC St Malachy’s to be PP Christ the Redeemer, Lagmore;

Very Rev Canon Brendan Murray, CC Holy Family, to be Priest in Residence Holy Family;

Rev Declan Mulligan, CC Newcastle, to assist part-time at the Diocesan and Regional levels of the Armagh Regional Marriage Tribunal;

Rev Michael McConville to assist part-time in the Parish of Antrim;

Rev Ciaran Hegarty to pursue a Doctoral Research Programme;

Rev Damian McCaughan to pursue Post-Graduate studies in Theology at the Pontifical Irish College, Rome.

Rev Krzysztof Olejnik SCHR (Society of Christ) to be CC St Colmcille’s, Ballyhackamore and to provide pastoral care for the Polish Community, succeeding Fr Andrzej Kołaczkowski SCHR, who has returned to Australia;

Rev Clement Marshall, a native of Belfast and a retired priest of the Diocese of Portsmouth, to offer assistance when available.

Together with Bishop Tony and Bishop Donal I wish to record sincere thanks and appreciation to Fr Danny Whyte for the many years of faithful service and ministry in the Diocese of Down and Connor and I wish him a long and fulfilled retirement.

I extend a warm welcome to Fr Krzysztof as he begins ministry in the Diocese.
