Documentary filmmaker Neasa Ni Chianain is set to make a new film about notorious Co. Donegal priest Fr Eugene Greene.
Ms Ni Chianain is known for her documentary which exposed
Irish-language poet Cathal O Searcaigh's relationships with young
Nepalese boys.
Her next film will be a fictional adaptation of the book Breaking the
Silence by retired Garda Martin Ridge who brought Fr Greene to justice.
The book details investigations and Ridge's successful convictions of Fr Eugene and two other abusers.
In 2000, Fr Greene was sentenced to 12 years in prison after being
convicted of abusing boys in Donegal between 1965 and 1982.
He was
released in 2008.
Filming is expected to begin by the end of this year.
