Former Roman Catholic Archbishop Milingo ordains a married Bishop

Bishop Peter Njogu Kibutu is the new bishop of Mt Kenya region for Restored Universal Apostolic Church whose head is the former Roman Catholic archbishop Emmanuel Milingu who presided the ceremony in Nyeri.

The low profile ceremony which was done at a historical Ruring'u stadium at the outskirt of Nyeri town marked another chapter in the area where Roman catholic takes a lion share in terms of followers.

Archbishop Milingu was accompanied by his Korean wife Maria Sung who all through the ceremony was taking photos of the events.

There were over ten fathers who are now married attending the ceremony.

Milingu told the media that his church is actively 'hunting' for priests from the Catholic church.

"We are short of priests and we need more priests. If you are out there living with a sin of fornication, join us and we will forgive you and let you marry legally," he said.

Milingu was asked to step down from his position in 1983 as Archbishop of Lusaka for his performance of exorcisms and faith healing practices unapproved by Catholic Church authorities.

The new bishop Njogu is married to Mary Njogu and is a father of three children: two boys and a girl.
