Cardinal: Gays and lesbians exclude themselves from Catholic Church

In a talk with students at Northwestern University in Chicago, Cardinal Francis George said gays and lesbians aren’t excluded from the church, according to The Daily Northwestern.

“If they feel they are excluded, it is only because they have decided to exclude themselves until the church decides to accept their practices,” George said.

The church has opposed attempts to legalize gay marriage.
