Vatican Recognizes Sighting Of Virgin Mary In Wisconsin

The Vatican has officially named a small shrine in northeast Wisconsin a holy site.

A chapel in Champion, near Green Bay, has been recognized as a location of several sightings of the Virgin Mary.

A trio of theological experts spent two years researching historical documents related to the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help.

Green Bay Bishop David Ricken says the Virgin Mary was seen there three times in 1859 by Belgian immigrant Adele Brise.

The site is the only one in the U.S. where an apparition of the Virgin Mary has been officially approved by the Roman Catholic Church.
