Poles trust in Roman Catholic church declines

According to a new survey, trust in the Roman Catholic church in Poland has fallen by 12 percent in Poland since 2004.

Sixty six percent say they still have trust in the church establishment, however, finds the opinion poll by TNS OBOP.

Poland still is a country that feels a deep connection with the church, with almost half of Poles saying that state authorities should follow the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Poles are also divided as to the return of Church property seized by the communist authorities.

As many as 39 percent of respondents think the Church should regain its land and real estate and exactly the same number are against this.

The survey was conducted on 5-8 November 2010 among a sample of 1005 people.
