Papal representative faces criticism

The Pope's representative who is investigating child protection in Dublin has been criticised for concelebrating mass in Dublin's Pro-Cathedral with bishops criticised in the Murphy Report.

Marie Collins, who is meeting Cardinal Sean O'Malley this evening, said the presence on the altar of Dublin auxiliaries, Dermot O'Mahony and Eamonn Walsh sent out all the wrong signals to victims.

The Cardinal will meet a number of other victims between now and Thursday.

He said he would return in the New Year.

After Archbishop Diarmuid Martin introduced him to the congregation at Dublin's Pro-Cathedral, Cardinal O'Malley invited anyone who wished to share their testimony could contact him through the Apostolic Nunciature in Dublin to request an appointment.

He also invited written submissions.
