PACE President to Meet Pope in Vatican

The president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will meet the pope in the Vatican City, his office said on Monday.

PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu will have a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI in the Vatican City before a PACE Bureau meeting to take place in Rome, Italy on Wednesday.

Cavusoglu and the pontiff are expected to discuss interreligious dialogue, and the PACE president will invite the pope to PACE Plenary Session as a speaker.

After his meeting with Pope Benedict XVI, Cavusoglu will chair a PACE Bureau meeting in Rome in which participants are to debate the draft agenda of Assembly's October session.
