Holyrood officials are in talks with Catholic MSPs over the clash between the Pope's open air Mass and parliamentary business.Benedict XVI is due to celebrate Mass before thousands of pilgrims in Glasgow next month in his first state visit to the UK.
It is expected that Catholic MSPs will want to attend the service.
However, the event clashes with parliamentary business.
