Australian church investigates clerical abuse connections

The Australian Catholic Church is investigating whether any clerical abusers in Ireland had connections with its ministries.

It follows the publication of the Ryan report last year, which revealed a 60-year period of extensive sexual and physical abuse of children by priests, nuns and lay staff within the Irish Catholic Church.

The Sunday Business Post reports the Catholic Church in Australia is now planning to contact investigators in Ireland to see if so-called "problem priests" were sent to Australia.
