World Cup Spot: Jesus saves for Germany

Good luck cards signed by the Pope have been handed to Germany's World Cup squad to bring the real life hand of God to their matches.

The cards - donated by Pope Benedict XVI's brother Georg Ratzinger, 86 - were handed to the team's physiotherapist Klaus Eder before the squad left for South Africa.

Berlin businessman Reinhard Kohler - who arranged the loan - explained: "I am a huge football fan and I hope that our team go all the way. All of the cards are personally signed from Pope Benedict XVI.

"They are a treasure that you can't buy for any money. They are direct from the Vatican and only for special events."
