Gay Jesus show scrapped

An art exhibition showing Jesus as the gay son of a hooker has been closed down after furious protests from church-goers.

The show - by photographer Fernando Bayona in Granada, Spain - has caused outrage with images of Jesus having sex with Mary Magdalene before turning gay.

Others - based on the Catholic Church's Stations of the Cross - show the Virgin Mary as a prostitute.

Now organisers at Granada University have closed the show because they can no longer guarantee the artist's safety.

"There is a lot of anger and there have been some very serious threats to both the artist and our staff," said a college worker.
