Chicago archdiocese offers sex abuse therapy

The Archdiocese of Chicago says it's sponsoring free therapy groups for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

The groups are divided into men and women.

They'll meet with licensed professionals for 12 weeks, beginning this month.

The archdiocese said Friday that participation in the adult therapy groups isn't limited to people who were sexually abused by priests or deacons.

It'll also present a program for family members of those who've been sexually abused as kids by priests or deacons of the Catholic church.

That group will meet four times, beginning this month.

The Archdiocese published a report on its Web site this month that says it has paid more than $95 million to victims of sexual abuse by priests since June 2001. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
