CW - 2 Years a'Growing!!

My dear friends, we have reached yet another milestone on this blogspot...we are now 2 years on the go...and there aint no stopping us yet!!!

At this particular moment, it is perhaps apt that we go back to that very first posting which began this blogspot on that day in 2006...

Clerical Whispers Mission Statement

It is my intention to provide a comprehensive, informative and accurate portrayal of matters religious and spiritual in Ireland and if so deemed to be of benefit, other areas of the world.

At all and each time, the articles of information posted here will be independently verified at least 3 times and from variant sources so that no posting is
verified twice in the same week by the same person/organisation and this ensures total independence and trust in relation to aforementioned articles.

Each article stands or falls on the merits of the evidence used to support it.

Ever since that posting, we here have tried to ensure that it is upheld and obeyed down through the years and thus far it has served its purpose well indeed.

Now, on this day, CW has certainly come a long way, which has been certainly guided by all of you, our beloved and blessed followers and the numbers speak for themselves in that regard:

* 12,260 postings since 15th December 2006

* average of 500 postings per month

* 17 postings per day (which has certainly improved upon the original average of 6 a day when CW began)

* at writing of this piece, 525,000 people have visited this site (measured on a new visit basis ie. does not count return journey from same IP address)

* if each visit - including return visit from each IP - was counted, our techies have advised we would have a multiple of at least 47 of that number!!!

* the tracking counter has shown that the following countries are in order of most visits to CW:

1. Ireland (North & South)

2. USA

3. United Kingdom (not incl. Northern Ireland)

4. Australia

5. China

6. Vatican City State

7. France

8. Sweden

9. Norway

10. Germany

* counties in Ireland that have visited most often are as follows, again in top order:

1. Dublin

2. Roscommon

3. Westmeath

4. Sligo

5. Armagh

6. Clare

7. Cork

8. Wicklow

9. Antrim

10.Derry

11. Mayo

12. Meath

13. Donegal

14. Fermanagh

15. Tyrone

* overall, many of the visits within the Irish area alone are very much traceable back to a few palaces so it is nice to know they are keeping eyes on us keeping eyes on them...and it shall no doubt long remain that way!!!

As part of our mission here in CW, by reaching out across the world with news etc., we often get info back on how difficult things can be in emerging faith communities, so today we officially launch our CW Aid Appeal.

What we are asking you all to do is go rummaging in the sacristy (as we shall be individually doing) and locate vestments, lectionaries and other liturgical items that are basically cast aside and not used.

Once you have located them, then notify us here through this site by clicking on the envelope icon on all of the postings on this site, leave a message that contains some contact details and we will be in touch to take care of things from there.

Once we get those items, whatever, if any, repairs need to be done, we will take care of, and then forward to those who have requested these items through CW, and we will take care of the necessary forwarding costs.

At no time will we seek money from you as that is too much of an occurrence in the church, but if you do wish to give financially, then it shall be discussed how best it can be spent.

We do sincerely hope that you can help in whatever way possible, and sincerely thank you in earnest.

Onwards with the work and many, many thanks to each and all of you and your support of this site in the last 2 years.

Gach uile beannacht oraibh - Every blessing upon you
