Macedonian Bishop hints at possibile visit of Benedict XVI

The Catholic believers and all Macedonian citizens would like to see the Pope Benedict XVI paying a visit to region, Bishop Kiro Stojanov said in Ohrid today.

He pointed out that 2013 would be a good timing for the visit as it will coincide with the 1,700 anniversary of Emperor's Constantine issuance of the Decree on Religious Freedom, Makfax's correspondent said.

Stojanov explanied that Bishops of the whole region are working on this project as they are all eager to finally see realization of this visit.

In the last three days, the Bishops from the region took part at the 21st International Bishops Conference "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Ohrid.
