Clerical Diocesan Appointments 2008 - Diocese of Cork & Ross - Changes

Bishop Buckley has appointed Fr Teddy O'Sullivan to be the next Parish Priest of Douglas Parish. He is currently PP of Kilmurry.

Fr. O'Sullivan replaces Canon Liam O'Regan who is retiring as PP but will continue to serve in the parish as Assistant Priest.

Canon O'Regan has been parish priest in Douglas parish, which included Rochestown, since 1996 when he transferred from Knocknaheeny where he was also PP. He is a native of Kinsale.

Fr. Teddy O'Sullivan, from Bantry parish, has been in Kilmurry since 2005 and previously served as Diocesan Secretary. Before being appointed to the diocesan office in 1992, Fr. O'Sullivan served in Douglas as curate.

The new Parish Priest of Kilmurry is Fr Bernard Donovan who is moving from being Parish Priest of Schull and Administrator of Goleen. Fr Donovan has been in Schull since 2004 when he returned to the diocese after the closure of the South American Mission where he served three terms.

Fr. John O'Donovan who is curate in Goleen is also appointed as Administrator of Schull Parish while continuing to be CC in Goleen.
