Welsh bishops to reflect on Lambeth

Bishops of the Church in Wales will present their response to the Lambeth Conference to members of the Governing Body of the Church in Wales at the University of Wales, Lampeter, next week.

All the Welsh Bishops attended the once-a-decade event for the leaders of the worldwide Anglican church which was held this summer at the University of Kent in Canterbury.

They will talk to the Governing Body about their experiences and impressions of the conference and what they felt it achieved.

As President of the Governing Body, the Archbishop of Wales, Dr Barry Morgan, will begin the meeting with an address. This will also focus on the Lambeth Conference and its implications for the Church in Wales.

The Governing Body has 144 members which include the diocesan bishops and elected clergy and lay people.

It meets twice a year, in April and September.

Other items on the agenda include the launch of the Parish Green Guide, a handbook to help churches cut their carbon footprint, and reports on Clergy Terms of Service and the representation of women in the Church in Wales.
