Spokesperson says Catholic Church doesn't support hunger strikes

The Catholic Church say hunger strikes are not a valid form of protest and it is not the Christian way.

Two of the three Christian protesters arrested over the break-in at the Waihopai spy base on Wednesday are currently on a hunger strike.

Catholic Church spokeswoman Lindsay Freer says the Catholic community does not support self-starvation as a method of protest.
