Protestant group demands end to sale of rosary beads

A Protestant group from Belfast is demanding an end to the sale of rosary beads at St Patrick's Church of Ireland in Dublin.

The rosary is a traditional Catholic practice and the Evangelical Protestant Society says rosary beads should not be on sale in a Protestant church.

The group has complained to the Dean of St Patrick's, saying the space taken up by the beads would be better used to stock evangelical Christian literature.

However, the dean says the beads are sold because most of the visitors to St Patrick's are not Anglicans.
