Scientologists defend beliefs after family killing

The Australian Church of Scientology says there is no link between its beliefs and a double murder in western Sydney.

A 25-year-old Sydney woman faced court yesterday charged with the stabbing deaths of her father and sister and the serious wounding of her mother at Revesby in south-west Sydney last Thursday.

A psychiatric report tendered to the court stated that the woman was denied psychiatric help because of her parents' belief in Scientology, but resumed taking medication before the incident.

The Vice President of the Australian Church of Scientology, Cyrus Brooks, has outlined his position on the matter to ABC 702's Virginia Trioli.
