Holy Week - Good Friday

Good Friday - 14th. Station of the Cross

The final scene of the awful tragedy is now drawing to a close, and reverently the faithful few take the body of the dead Christ down the hill of shame, that body from which all the care of loving hands cannot remove the marks of the cruel scourge, the rending nails, the gaping thrust of the lance.

Into the tomb they bear Him, the burial place of a stranger, best suited to Him Who during His life had nowhere to lay His head.

Reverently He is laid down, and one last embrace from His Mother before they leave the tomb in silence and in sorrow.

He is now under the watchful care of God’s own angels.

Reflection

Sin has done its work! Sin has triumphed, but its very triumph will prove its own undoing!!
